How to get a job on a superyacht?
You need to get some yachting experience and the right certification.
Like most crew working on a yachts today, you start by going to the right places:
Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
Antibes, France.
Palma de Mallorca, Spain.
St Marteen, Caribbean Islands.
And also, Newport Road Island, San Diego, Monaco, Viareggio Italy, Dubai...
There is a certification required my most yachts today, it is called the STCW95.
It's a basic 5 days training to acquire the minimum knowledge about yacht safety.

Get some experience, yacht daywork.
To get a full time job on a yacht you need some experience.
Most yacht crew have gained their first few days of experience by doing some daywork.
Daywork is very popular in yachting, as many yachts before the seasons need a lot a work to be done.
The jobs varies from wasshing down, cleaning, organizing etc...
It is the easiest way for you to gain some experience and make even get paid for it.
To find some daywork, most crew will usually "walk the docks".
Get your resume, a business card and go walk along the docks, kindly ask the captains or crew that you can speak to if they need some help.
Give a copy of your resume and a business card to the captains.
Dayworking pays usually about $10 to $15 an hour (or 15 euros in the Mediterranne).

Become a professional yacht crew.
When you walk around the docks or go for your first interview, wear a yacht crew uniform.
Take off your shoes before stepping on a yacht if you are invited onboard.
Listen to the crew and captains, yachts have rules that must be respected at all time for safety.
A well-written resume targeting the jobs you want and focusing on your professional experience.
Show your motivation for the position with a smile.
Working on a yacht is about team work, long hours and constant changes, stay flexible.

Socializing with yacht crew.
Go where the crew hangout after work hours, and happy hours!
If you ask around you, many yacht crew will tell you that they got the job through a friend.
Like in most industries, a friend's referral is usually worth a lot more than a crew agency resume.
Go after to the local crew bars, meet a few people and quickly you might hear about some open positions.
Go to the boat shows, learn about yachts and the yachting industry.
Join the yacht crew parties and events in the main yachting places.
